Research Request
Would you like to know more about an American-made clock or watch that you own?
If you have an American-made clock or watch that you would like to learn more about, there are some research options available to you. The American Clock & Watch Museum is prohibited by policy from offering financial appraisals even ballpark figures.
Clock Identification Days
Clock Identification Days are scheduled in the spring and fall of each year in order to help patrons identify timekeepers that they own. For the price of admission, you may bring one American-made timepiece to the museum so that our staff can help you learn more about the history of your treasure. Consult the events page or call the museum to inquire about these special days.
Research Library and Book Sales
In addition to a collection of clocks and watches that dates from the 17th century to the present, the museum houses an excellent research library. Historical data on American clock and watch makers and manufacturing firms that will help you to identify your clock or watch and its model name as well as production dates can be found in our library. The research library, located in the Ebenezer Barnes Memorial Wing, is available for use during our hours of operation. In addition, we have research books available for purchase through our gift shop and website.
